Dr Erik Yeo : Chairman of the Board
Dr. Yeo is Professor of Medicine at the Toronto General Hospital. Dr. Yeo is a leading specialist in Laboratory Hematology, Hematology and Medicine. From 2000 to 2006, Dr. Yeo was the Physician in Chief of the Department of Laboratory Hematology and Hematopathology at the University Health Network in Toronto. During this same period, he was the Medical Director of Laboratory Business Development for the Toronto Medical Laboratories within the University Health Network (Toronto General Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, and Toronto Western Hospital). He is currently the Head of Benign Hematology, Director of Clinical Hemostasis and Thrombosis and the Red Cell Disorders Program in the Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology of University Health Network. Dr Yeo is a member of several medical organizations including Fellow of the American Heart Association, American Society of Hematology and the American Foundation of Clinical Research. Dr Yeo holds a MD from Queens University, Kingston and completed Fellowships in Medicine, Hematology, Oncology and Hematology Research at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the American Board of Internal Medicine and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto.
Pierre Le Fèvre, Chief Executive Officer
Before joining Aurora MSC in 2008, Mr. Le Fèvre was a senior management professional recognized for consistently creating corporate value as a successful high level financial and strategic advisor. He is adept in the analysis and assessment of market value drivers and the development and execution of sound financial and strategic plans promoting continuous improvement in true corporate value. Mr. Le Fèvre has a history of success attained in service to Canadian and international financial institutions such as TD Bank, Salomon Brothers, National Bank Financial and Scotia Capital in senior sales and marketing positions. He is a seasoned veteran of numerous start-ups involving new products and markets. Mr. Le Fèvre has an extensive network of global contacts in business, government and parapublic communities with international marketing experience in North America, Europe and the Middle East. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario Business and a LL.M. in International Securities Law from McGill University. Mr. Le Fèvre is member of the Quebec Bar Association.
Robert Claude Maltais, Director of Research and Development (R&D)
Mr. Maltais heads the Product R&D, Product Delivery & After Sales Support where he leads the technical team to design and deliver mScope and its four application suites. Before joining Aurora MSC in 2006, Mr. Maltais was the Chief Technology Officer with Synopsis Solutions Inc. where he led the technical design of J2EE Applications for accessing and distributing travel products over the Internet. Prior to that, he worked as a Lead Software Architect and Software Developer for various information technology companies in Canada and in the United States. Mr. Maltais earned a bachelor of science in software engineering at the University of Sherbrooke. He is the co-inventor of three pending patents in the United States and Europe in the field of product-to-product technologies and broadband service provisioning.
Matthew K. Smith, Product Manager, Head of Sales Support and Implementation
Mr. Smith joined Aurora MSC in 2008. His background in R&D coupled with his executive management and marketing experience enable him to resolve implementation challenges with customers’ IT departments as Head of Sales Support and lead installation and integration efforts with customers’ existing medical software systems. Before joining Aurora MSC, Mr. Smith was the CEO of Imagination MP2 Inc., an engineering technology company whose intellectual property he sold in 2008. He has worked for the last ten years managing engineering product design including mechanical, electrical and software development. Prior roles include positions in the Core Engineering Group of Bombardier Aerospace, a world leader in innovative aviation products, and engineering project lead for DARPA, the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. Mr. Smith earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering at McGill University, where he was the recipient of a Canada scholarship for science & engineering and numerous awards for outstanding engineering design and leadership.
